WOW you have improved so much! you should be proud of yourself! Those paws! they are gorgeous (I have a thing about dogs paws XD) and the tail! I love how it looks like ink is splattering off it as it moves I love how you draw Canines! and wow we haven't spoke in a while! how have you been? x had a good Christmas?
Thank you very much ! : D (paws are one of the most fun parts to draw indeed : P ) I'm glad to hear that I'm improving somehow :] ! It seems like I feel more comfortable on my new account here, it being less crowded and less pressured. I think that gave me the freedom to improve and also draw a lot more other things :] I've been doing very well ! I'm really enjoying my Christmas break as I got lots of time to revamp old characters and draw other stuff :3 Christmas was great as well for me ! I had some great evenings dining together with old friends and family. It's always nice to see some old faces again :] I hope you had a great Christmas as well dear !
Thank you I really really did, im trying to improve on bodies, at the moment as I can only draw heads, if I try to draw the body it just comes out BLEH! haha x So im going to work on my poses and stuff with guides which I have been doing for a while XD I have found out my style has changed drastically aswell which is quite good for me. XD I've had a really good Christmas getting stuff I wanted and spending time with family thank you x x
It's good to hear you're practicing to improve as well ! Practice is the key they say :] ! Hah, it's fun though, I was always able to draw the body right, but the heads turned out to look out of proportion x3 Legs are still tricky to draw though, I still have to use a lot of references to get the proportions right (; I think no one really ever has one single style that stays. Mine has grown quite a lot too and I tend to vary a lot with different styles as I think it's good to vary a lot c: It's always good to grow and try out new things as well ^^ And I'm glad you had a great Christmas dear ! <3
Yeah I agree, I think the more you use referances the more your art will improve on anatomy so that is what I try but the thing Is with me I give up too easily, like last night I was drawing a commission for my friend of her cat character and I was trying to draw it sat down but I ended up giving up and doing a very detailed head shot XD
True (: ! I still take moments to sit down and just sketch a couple of studies from photographs, it enables someone to understand anatomy and movement very fast :3 I always had the habit to give up easy as well, but I eventually learned that I went nowhere with giving up. So I ''bit through the sour apple'' and found out that drawing straight from the head without doing some research/studies about the subject didn't work xD But I really advise to not give up to easy, every artist started out struggling. So did I (;
well I took your advice and I sketched something this morning and and it didn't look right at first so I went and got some pictures of my own dog and some from the internet and drew my new Cardigan welsh corgi cross german shepherd (I have a german shepherd) and it turned out great im very pleased with it x he is my second fursona x so yeah it really does work and im slowly getting better at drawing bodies, i've been drawing officially for about 3 years now and i look back at my old drawings and go O.O did i used to draw like that! XD
I'm glad that I could help you out somehow (: ! It's always great to draw from real life, and pets definitely are great references (; ! Keep practicing that way, you'll notice that you'll get even better over time. The more you draw the easier and faster it will be over time ! I also took a look in my old archive where I had some of my very first drawings saved in. It's amazing to see how much someone can improve over (sometimes even short) periods of time :3
