I had terrible news coming my way today...

It already didn't go very well with one of my best palls here on the world. My cat Max had to leave us and the world today sadly.

A couple of days ago I noticed he didn't eat anymore and started to sleep a lot overday and at night. He was lying on the same spot all the time in front of the stairs. I first thought he was just missing my parents who were on a short holiday for a while. He always started to act a bit ''depressed'' whenever he caught sight of the suitcases. So things did seem to be 'normal'... Though his belly seemed to swell up and his hip area started to get thinner with the day I noticed something was terribly wrong.

We took him to the vet yesterday and he said it might be FIV (A illness almost comparable to feline leukemia). Today they tested his blood and we got the devastating news that he had the disease FIV. It meant that he only had 2 weeks of his life left. We had two options: Keep him alive for a little while with medicines or to put him out of his misery. It would be selfish to let him suffer for any while longer so we took the decision to give him his eternal rest.

I feel devastated about losing him all of a sudden.. I got him when I started studying 7 years ago... He was one of my best pals as he always was around when I went through tough times, was simply drawing or when I had to go through a deadline. He was an extremely social being for a cat. Many people I encounter usually have got the image of a arrogant, scratchy and shy image of cats. But Max definitely was the opposite.. he often acted as a dog if I have to give a description of his behavior. When there was a party with 30 people around in our house he waited until a chair got empty and he simply sat among the crowd enjoying the company. He always went down the stairs with me to almost literally ''sit'' at the table with me to have my breakfast. I always brought some of his food with me to give it to him in the morning. He always slept at the top of stairs on the floor like a watchdog waiting until we got home. He'd wake up and even 'wag' in some sort of way. A cat usually doesn't wag when he's happy.. but he got this kind of 'wagging' in his tail since he was still a kitten.

All my parents their colleagues working at the bakkery at our home knew him as well. He was some sort of 'mascotte' to our business. I remember taking him with me for my very first presentation in my freshman year and everyone fell in love with him immediately. From the very beginning he was a pal to many friends of mine and my parents.

He had a very good life and I could always see that he enjoyed it. Even to the very end when he was in pain, he kept on purring until his eyes closed. He died in my mother's arms with somehow a look on his face as if he was saying that it was enough, that he had lived well and was prepared to leave our world ):



Rest In Peace, my friend... You will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

What am I specialized in ?
As I've always been drawing animals it has become my speciality. I am still practicing on on drawing humans and other creatures as well. But still I am at my best when drawing animals (; Also I have a heart for character designing. I've done a couple of reference sheet commissions in my past based on a description the commissioner gave me. (it's like translating words to a character, which I consider one of my abilities).
Though those are my specialities I am willing to draw other subjects as well, I will always study new subjects before I start on them so if someone commissions me something I've never drawn before I will automatically practice before I start on the real drawing. It's also a way of learning for me so don't be afraid to ask me to draw something I've never drawn (; !

My reason to trade
I don't see trading as a ''I draw you something pretty, you draw me something pretty''. I see trading as something to learn from. I love to see how people interpret my characters and how they draw them. It is also some kind of feed-back to me to see if other people interpret my characters the way I do. It let's me know if I still have to work on a certain character it's design to  improve them (;
What can you expect from me?  
I take trades just as serious as a drawing of one of my own characters, which means I will devote myself to one as much as to any other drawing I do. I am not a person to rush things and I actually want to learn from trades.
